Metal roofs are tough. They're built to last, and most people assume that means they take care of themselves. But over time, dirt, algae, and organic debris work their way into every ridge and groove - and once that buildup gets a foothold, it starts to work against the roof instead of just sitting on top of it.

Here's what we were working with on this one. A steel corrugated roof sitting under a large tree, dealing with the kind of grime that builds up when shade, moisture, and organic debris all combine in the same spot. The surface was heavily discolored, with dark streaking running the length of the panels.

We cleaned it panel by panel, getting into the ridges where debris tends to pack in and linger. The difference is hard to miss - the metal went from grimy and dull to clean, bright, and sharp-looking again. That's what a proper roof cleaning actually does. It's not just cosmetic. Removing that layer of buildup helps the material breathe and shed water the way it's supposed to.

Steel roofs are actually one of our favorite surfaces to work on. When you get the approach right - right pressure, right technique - the results are really satisfying. And the payoff for the homeowner goes beyond looks. A clean roof holds up better, drains better, and just plain lasts longer.

If your metal roof is starting to show staining, streaks, or that telltale dark discoloration, it's worth getting it cleaned before the buildup gets worse. We handle roof cleaning on all kinds of metal roofing, and we know how to get results without causing damage.
